Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2014

The 19th International Epcot Food & Wine Festival is in full swing. Food lovers can eat their way through World Showcase and sample mouthwatering delicacies dished out by celebrity chefs. The festival runs now through November 10. Admission is included in your park ticket. Food at the booths ranges between $4 to $8. In addition to the food booths the festival offers many special programs such as signature diners, culinary demonstrations, Eat to the Beat concerts and much more.

New at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2014:

The Patagonia Booth features flavors from Chile and Argentina. Check out the sustainable roasted Verlasso salmon, quinoa salad and arugula chimichurri.
– Farm-fresh local flavors of a new “Bacon and Eggs” dish featuring applewood-smoked, pepper-coated bacon, sweet corn, potatoes, Hollandaise and pickled jalapeños will be served at The Farm Fresh Marketplace which replaces the Florida Fresh booth.

Food and Wine Late Nights LIVE!
A new after-hours event is presented every Tuesday and Thursday during the festival. Guests can remain in Epcot after Illuminations. This special ticketed event ($79 per person to be exact) takes place in the area between the United Kingdom Pavilion and World Showcase Plaza. Guests can choose six different items from Festival Marketplace Booths. A DJ provides entertainment. A separate Epcot admission is not required, unless you want to enter the park prior to the party start time. The event lasts till 1 a.m.

Many special events, new and returning, are offered during the Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2015. These events, while wonderful experiences, come at an extra cost and require advance booking. For a complete list of special events check out the Disney Food Blog. Here are some of my favorites:

– Dining Through the Decades, A Tribute to Walt Disney — A dinner featuring Walt Disney’s culinary favorites, October 24, $99 – $119 per person. NEW
– Italian White Truffle & Wine Pairing Dinner, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, at $295 is a major dent in your credit card. NEW
– Party for the Senses is the annual Grande Dame of events. With 50 wines and beers and delicious bites at various tasting stations Party of the Senses is a unique experience. Dates are: October 4, 11, 18, and November 1 from 7:30 – 10 p.m. Three different ticket levels are available: A regular admission ticket is $149 and reserved seating on main floor is available for $189. A private reserved table, premium bar, artisanal cheese station, and more is priced at $299. Epcot admission is required and prices are per person. The event is pricey but includes Live entertainment by Cirque du Soleil. In addition to the party guests also have reserved seating at the evening’s Eat to the Beat Concert.

Eat to the Beat Concert

Eat to the Beat Concerts are for FREE

I love the Eat to the Beat concerts held at the American Gardens Theater in the American Adventure Pavilion. New this year is Fuel an alternative rock and post grunge band formed in 1993 while playing the club circuit in and around Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. They will be rocking the stage October 9-10.

My favorite band, Sister Hazel takes the stage October 11 and 12. Closing act will be Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the Southern California contemporary swing revival band. The concerts are held three times a day at 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and they are a great way to end your day at Epcot. Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival is a celebration of food and drink from around the world and immensely popular with tourists and locals. If you are interested in any of the ticketed events it is a good idea to book long in advance as some, such as the Party of the Senses, sell out completely.
