Christmas at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios offers an array of Christmas experiences. Liliane Opsomer, coauthor of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World with Kidsshares with us what guests can do at The Studios to get into the holiday spirit.

Through December 31st, enjoy the Sunset Seasons Greetings—an all-new sound-and-light show projected on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror on Sunset Boulevard. The show is performed about every 20 minutes nightly and comes with lots of magical snow.

The Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM nighttime show projected on the Grauman Chinese Theatre is back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and, for a limited time only, all-new songs from Disney’s new animated short “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” are added to the For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.

For an additional $79-$89 ($45-$49 for children ages 3-9), guests can attend the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Dessert Party held in a reserved viewing area in the courtyard of the Grauman Chinese Theatre. Multiple food stations, featuring holiday-inspired sweet and savory delights, such as a warm cheese fondue with pretzel bread and flatbread; warm pumpkin pie and spiced-bread pudding with hand-dipped vanilla ice cream; as well as beer, wine, and specialty cocktails for guests 21 and older. A Liquid Nitro Station is the star of the evening. Nonalcoholic beverages and hot cocoa are also available. The price includes mingling with a VIP character during the event and a pair of 3D glasses to use while watching the show; the glasses create holographic illusions such as gingerbread men and candy canes. The Dessert Party takes place daily November 9th through December 15th, one hour prior to each performance of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! and includes the viewing of the new pre-show, Disney Movie Magic.

Santa returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and takes up residence at the Once Upon at Time shop for meet-and-greets.

Echo Lake got a holiday overhaul; even Gertie, the giant dinosaur, is outfitted with a Santa hat!

Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood & Vine is another nice way to celebrate the season. Minnie, joined by Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Santa Goofy, meets with guests as they dine on holiday-themed menu items. Minnie’s Seasonal Dining event costs $50 per adult and $30 per child, plus tax and gratuity, and includes table activities and souvenir party gifts. The dinner is offered November 6th, 2017, through January 7th, 2018.

Other than the Magic Kingdom during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, I think that this year Disney’s Hollywood Studios has conveyed the holiday spirit best. Just look at these umbrellas all decked out for the season!

There is so much to see at Walt Disney World during this special time of the year, and Christmas experiences await at every park and resort. The Animal Kingdom is also nicely decorated. Except for a character meet-and-greet with Mickey and Minnie in their holiday best, though, it is the only park that has no special Christmas events. Sadly, Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade ended in 2013.

I have the 2018 Guide and it references the Hotel Room View tool on the website; I can’t seem to locate that?
