Walt Disney World goes all out to decorate the parks and resorts for the Christmas Season. Have you ever wondered what logistics are involved transforming parks and hotels nearly overnight into a winter wonderland? Find out when you take one of the guided Christmas tours—an unforgettable experience. Disney currently offers two tours. Here is what you need to know.

Disney’s Yuletide Fantasy Tour takes guests backstage where they get the scoop on the logistics involved in the wintertime transformation of Walt Disney World Resort each and every holiday season! During this fact-filled, three-hour Christmas tour, participants will meet cast members who create the decorations used to dress up the parks and hotels and get an up-close look at the traditional trimmings of Main Street U.S.A.

Yuletide Fantasy Tour at Epcot

At Epcot, guests also go backstage and learn about the Christmasfest in Germany, the legend of La Befana in Italy, and the diversity of traditions at The American Adventure.

Last, but not least, guests visit a resort hotel and learn how the lavish holiday atmosphere is created through the grand-scale application of color, texture, architecture, illusion, and attention to detail. Each participant also receives a special treat and a holiday keepsake! The tour is available for guests 16 years of age and up and costs $99 plus tax per person.

For 12 nights only, Disney offers the five-hour Disney’s Holiday D-Lights Tour. The tour starts with an early, family-style barbecue dinner (included) at Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

At the Magic Kingdom, the tour goes backstage for guests to learn how Walt Disney World Resort transforms the park for the holidays. Participants meet with cast members in charge of special events and the decorating support team responsible for adorning Cinderella’s castle with hundreds of thousands of lights. Before leaving the Magic Kingdom, guests are able to see the stunning display of lights on the castle.

The next stop is Epcot, where guests witness the Candlelight Processional. The tour ends with a viewing of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. Guests must be 12 years of age or older to participate. The price is $259 and includes a limited-edition keepsake pin that’s exclusive to this tour!
