In July 2019 the reimagined Jurassic World—The Ride opened. Check out The Making of Jurassic World—The Ride here. And for those a little timid to face the dinosaurs, Universal Studios also opened the walk-up Isla Nu-Bar.
The thatched-roof bar serves a variety of island-inspired cocktails, and the obligatory collectible tiki mugs are, of course, on sale. For now, though, we have to be creative, and what would be better than trying two original recipes from the Isla Nu-Bar? Show us your creativity. We would love to see your pictures!
Tiki Tai
Ingredients:
1 ounce white rum
0.5 ounce pineapple rum
1 ounce pineapple juice
0.5 ounce lime juice
0.5 ounce passion fruit purée
0.5 ounce Orgeat syrup
1 ounce dark rum
Instructions:
1. Mix together white rum, pineapple rum, pineapple juice, lime juice, purée, and Orgeat syrup in a shaker with ice; shake vigorously for 5 seconds.
2. Pour contents of shaker into your favorite tiki glass and top with additional ice as needed.
3. Float dark rum on top.
4. For a little extra flair, garnish with a pineapple leaf just like it is done at the Isla Nu-Bar.
Bird of Paradise
Ingredients:
1.5 ounce passionfruit rum
0.5 ounce silver rum
0.5 ounce passionfruit purée
1 ounce guava purée
0.5 ounce lime juice
0.5 ounce Orgeat syrup
2 Dashes Angostura bitters
1 ounce spiced rum
Instructions:
1. Mix together passionfruit rum, silver rum, passionfruit purée, guava purée, lime juice, Orgeat syrup, and bitters in a shaker with ice; shake vigorously for 5 seconds.
2. Pour contents of shaker into your favorite tiki glass and top with additional ice as needed.
3. Float spiced rum on top and enjoy!
