We finally have some new information about the Disney Destiny! The Destiny is the third Wish-class ship and is already under construction at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany. It will begin sailing in late 2025. While it’s basically the same ship and layout as the Wish and Treasure, there are a lot of changes on the inside! Tammy Whiting, our Disney Cruise Line expert, shares 10 of them.
1. Heroes and Villains Theme – The Destiny’s theme is Heroes and Villains, and I think it’s wonderful. While the first four ships stuck to a basically classic decor and theme, the Wish, Treasure, and Destiny all went a different route with different themes. That’s the beauty of having multiple ships! There can be something for everyone.
2. Marvel-Themed Grand Hall – The first hero you’ll encounter onboard is T’Challa, the Black Panther. Up until now, every other statue in the atrium/Grand Hall has been a variation of an animated, somewhat classic character. We’ve got Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Ariel, Cinderella, and Aladdin, and Jasmine. The Black Panther is completely unexpected, and I think it’s great!
3. New Main Dining Room – Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King is the new Main Dining Room onboard the Destiny, and it’s hands-down the thing I am most excited about. I’m so ready to eat a delicious meal while listening to live music from The Lion King.
4. New Lounges – There are several new lounges on the Disney Destiny. De Vil’s, located just off the Grand Hall, has the coolest concept art, including a black-and-white-spotted baby grand piano. Cask and Cannon is the pirate-themed sports bar, and Sanctum is a Doctor Strange-themed lounge taking over the space of the expertly themed The Bayou from the Wish and Skipper Society on the Treasure. I don’t know what to think about the Sanctum, and I’m anxious to see the concept art for it!
5. Saga – Saga will be the new version of the two-storied entertainment venue Luna on the Wish and Sarabi on the Treasure. This one will have a light Wakanda theme.
6. Megara and Merida Cafés – On the Disney Destiny, the cafés right off the Grand Hall on decks four and five will be Megara and Merida themes. I’m guessing these will be lightly themed, much like the cafés on the other two ships. I love both of those characters and would like more of a presence onboard.
7. New Themes for Staterooms – I’ve said it before: I’m a big fan of differently themed staterooms. It’s a fun variable when choosing where you want to stay. On the Destiny, the themes are Hercules, Mulan, Brave, Raya and the Last Dragon, Big Hero 6, The Incredibles, and Fantasia.
8. Edna A La Mode – Edna Mode is running the Incredibles-themed sweet shop onboard, with Jack-Jack by her side! I’m not sure it’s possible to come up with a more clever name.
9. Spider-Man on the Bow – In another surprising move, Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots are the first Marvel characters to adorn the stern of a Disney ship. Webs will make up the decidedly more angular filigree than the normal gold decor on the ship.
10. Superhero Minnie on the Bow – The bow of the ship features Minnie in a superhero cape and pose! This is probably my second-favorite thing about the ship so far.

Oh, I would go! I might never come back! What a brilliant escape, when it’s 3 degrees outside and we really need it. Sign me up, Tammy. Let’s cruise. Tell them to get this boat on the water, stat! The public is begging for it. . . or at least I am, haha.
