Walt Disney World and Disneyland had been set to reopen at the beginning of April, but Disney has announced that their resorts will remain closed until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On March 27, the Disney company officially acknowledged that their theme parks and hotels in Florida and California will remain closed beyond their previously announced April 1 reopening date. Both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort will now remain shuttered until further notice, with hourly employees being paid through April 18.
Earlier in the week, Universal announced that Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando would extend their closures through April 19, with pay promised for their employees as well.
