Dreaming of a Disney Christmas

Felicity Pipe, also known as Tink, is one of our kid contributors to The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World with Kids. Felicity lives in the United Kingdom and her family visits Walt Disney World often. Their latest trip was to be in early May of this year. The holiday they saved so hard for was eventually canceled. Felicity and her family have rebooked for December, and today she shares with us what her three priorities will be when she visits Walt Disney World for her first Disney Christmas.

Currently, many theme parks, resort hotels, and cruise lines are still not operating or are operating with modified procedures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the latest updates, read our guide to coronavirus and the theme parks.

When I first arrive at Walt Disney World, I would like the first park I visit to be the Magic Kingdom because this will be my first time going in December, and I can’t wait to see all the holiday decorations throughout the park. I also look forward to seeing the Christmas merchandise that I hope to buy.

On my first day I would also love to go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which is only taking place at the Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place 7 p.m. till midnight, after the park closes for daytime guests, but we would be able to enter the park as early as 4 p.m. Since we will be tired from our journey, this will be a perfect first day. We can rest at our hotel, and I might even go for a swim before getting ready.

Disney Christmas

Once we are at the park we can square away some rides, I can meet a Princess, and we can eat dinner before the festivities begin.

As I arrive at the park I also would love to head to The Barnstormer at the Storybook Circus area of Fantasyland.

The reason I want this to be my first ride is because whenever I am on The Barnstormer I feel like I am having the best time of my life, looking at the whole park.

The first food I would like to have is LeFou’s Brew and the warm and delicious Cinnamon Roll from Gaston’s Tavern. This is also in Fantasyland. Gaston’s Tavern has always been one of my favorite places for snacks. I also want to try the Cheshire Cat’s Tail from the Cheshire Cat Cafe. This chocolate-filled pastry topped with icing and chocolate chips is yummy!

Disney Christmas

I’m sure we will have a grand time celebrating our first Disney Christmas.
