We are celebrating spring by giving away a Passport Kit to EPCOT’s World Showcase. Often seen as a park for adults, EPCOT has a lot to offer younger visitors. Little tykes will love riding Frozen Ever After and meeting Anna and Elsa at the Royal Sommerhus at the Norway Pavilion.
Turtle Talk with Crush and The Seas with Nemo and Friends await in the World Nature section of the park. A gentle boat ride, the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros is the feature attraction located inside the pre-Colombian pyramid of the Mexican Pavilion.
The latest addition, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, is a hit at the France Pavilion, and kids can sing their hearts out during the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along at Impressions de France! And finally, coming late this year is Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, an interactive trail that Disney describes as fun for all ages.
World Showcase offers fun with an educational twist—well worth your time. We recommend taking your children on a discovery tour of the cuisine and culture of the 11 land pavilions nestled along a picturesque 40-acre lagoon.
A culinary tour is best done during one of the many festivals taking place, such as EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival, the International Food & Wine Festival, or EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays. The latter will especially delight kids, as each pavilion presents the holiday traditions of its respective country.
Festival booths offer small portions of the traditional foods of each land. This is a great way to introduce kids to new dishes for a reasonable price, without going through a whole sit-down meal. Finally, who could resist a sweet game trying a treat or candy from each of the 11 countries in World Showcase?
World Showcase’s live entertainers are among the most highly rated attractions in EPCOT, and this section of the park also offers some of the most diverse and interesting shopping in Walt Disney World. Shops in EPCOT sell Passport Kits for about $14. Each kit contains a blank “passport“ and stamps for every World Showcase country. As kids visit each country, they tear out the appropriate stamp and stick it in the passport.
If you do not want to spring for the Passport Kit, take advantage of the free Kidcot Fun Stops. At each pavilion, cast members discuss their native country with the children and give them stickers and cards. The traveler cards have fun facts about the country on one side and a picture for coloring on the other. Kids also receive a Ziploc bag that looks like a suitcase for carrying their cards. Look for the brightly colored Kidcot signs.
