Cirque du Soleil Drawn to Life Page to Stage Tour

If you’ve ever wanted to know what it might be like to run away and join the circus, Cirque du Soleil at Disney Springs is now offering the next best thing with a new signature experience VIP backstage tour that reveals how Drawn to Life goes from “Page to Stage.”

Cirque du Soleil’s other permanent productions in cities like Las Vegas have long offered VIP behind-the-scenes tours, but the new Drawn to Life Page to Stage Signature Experience is the first time they’ve pulled back the curtain for regular guests at their Walt Disney World venue. (If you aren’t already familiar with the show, read our review of Drawn to Life.)

We were recently invited on a media preview of the new experience, which officially launces on May 24, and will be available after the second performances on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Drawn to Life Page to Stage tour begins before the show with a personalized welcome at a dedicated check-in desk, and a choice of snacks (including a souvenir popcorn bucket) and non-alcoholic beverages.

Then, Page to Stage participants watch Drawn to Life from reserved premium seats, typically located just house-left of center in the rear rows of the frontmost section.

After the show, the tour begins with a look around the main theater, and meet & greet with a couple of the show’s stars; on our visit, we got to meet the Pencil and Violin, both of whom have been with the production since it debuted.

Next, you get to tour behind-the-scenes areas like the props storage a wardrobe departments. Fun fact: after each show, all the costumes are washed and then dried hanging in a room filled with giant fans.

Finally, visitors are taken underneath and behind the stage itself, getting to see the high-tech hydraulic lifts and intricate hand-built props that give the show its distinct artistic style.

Guests learn about both the show’s cutting edge projection mapping technology, as well as the Disney easter eggs hidden in the decor — including actual artifacts from the Walt Disney Studios archives.

Following the 45+ minute experience, guests exit with some Drawn to Life gifts (plus a discount coupon for gift shop purchases), along with a deeper appreciation for the dedicated artists who work on the show.

For a complete look at the Drawn to Life Page to Stage experience, watch our POV video of the entire tour below. NOTE: Cirque performers will NOT be rehearsing while guests are taking the tour, as they were during this media preview.

Drawn to Life’s Page to Stage signature experience costs $285 for adults or $225 for kids, including premium seating with all taxes and fees. (Equivalent seats without the tour average $189-$245.) There’s only room for nine guests on each tour, so book online in advance.
