When you’re visiting Walt Disney World, sometimes you need a little nosh to keep you going until the next mealtime, but you don’t want to bust your dining budget. If you’re seeking a way to briefly fill your belly without spending much time or money, turn to the Unofficial Guide’s list of Disney’s best snacks for around $6.

Just to set some ground rules, we are looking for treats that are easily available from quick-service windows and outdoor vending carts, so you won’t need a reservation for any of the snacks on this list. We’re also seeking out uncommon menu items that are exclusive to just one or two locations, which leaves out some iconic but ubiquitous favorites like your standard pretzels, churros, or Mickey-shaped ice-cream bars.

Today, our suggested snack is the Chicken Fried Rice available as a side dish from Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes in Animal Kingdom’s Asia section. A pint serving costs $5.99 and comes served in a traditional cardboard take-out container.

Grab your chopsticks and dig in!

The fried rice isn’t exactly overflowing with large chunks of chicken, but you will discover shredded meat throughout the rice. There’s also some of the diced carrots commonly found in Americanized Chinese dishes, along with a generous portion of scrambled egg, which boosts the snack’s protein quotient. The fried rice comes slightly under seasoned, probably to be more accommodating to sensitive palates, but you can kick it up a notch with some soy or spicy sauce.

The main ordering windows for Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes can attract a long queue, and mobile ordering is not offered.

However, you can cut you wait by heading around the corner to the Drinks window, which also serves side dishes like chicken fried rice and egg rolls (when it is operating).

Once you have you snack, it may seem like all the tables immediately around Yak & Yeti are taken.

Take a look behind the restaurant for a fountain courtyard with a restroom and additional seating that is often overlooked.
