Unofficial Review: Snow White’s Enchanted Wish at Disneyland

The Unofficial Guide to Snow White's Enchanted Wish at Disneyland

One of Disneyland’s oldest and most infamous Fantasyland rides underwent a major reimagining within the past year, and today we’re sharing our thoughts on the updated Snow White’s Enchanted Wish attraction from The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2022.

The new edition of The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland is now available; amid all the major changes the Anaheim resort has seen through its post-pandemic reopening, you don’t want to overlook our updated review of Snow White’s Enchanted Wish at Disneyland Park.

Previously known as Snow White’s Scary Adventures, this small-scale spookhouse-style dark ride still has guests traveling in a mining car in the dark through a series of sets drawn from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The attraction, which previously had a Perils of Pauline flavor and featured Snow White as she narrowly escaped harm at the hands of the wicked witch, was revamped in 2021 to remove the parts that made generations of preschoolers poop their pants in favor of additional friendly dwarfs and a happy ending. High-tech projection effects enhance many scenes, and the evil queen’s classic magic mirror transformation is thankfully still intact.

Snow White’s update defanged the ride’s legendary creepiness, making it a much more compelling pick for families with easily frightened children, and the new effects will appeal to adults. Although the previous version prompted more angry letters from parents than any similar ride, the current version is not quite as intense as Mr. Toad, but the witch still rattles some sensitive preschoolers.

Experience Snow White’s Enchanted Wish if the lines are not too long, or try it on a second-day visit. Ride before 11 a.m. or after 5 p.m. if possible.

Unofficial Rating: 3 1/2 Stars

My granddaughter is 5 and was terrified when the witch popped out. She screamed and said she wanted off. It was not labeled scary in the guide.

Thank you for your information; we will take it into account. A young one can be scared of a witch. I hope the rest of your visit was magical.
