The brand-new Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2023 includes profiles of dozens of hotel options in the Anaheim Resort area, and today we’re reviving our series of Disneyland lodging reviews with a review and video tour of the Wyndam Anaheim.
Wyndham Anaheim (located at 515 W. Katella Ave.) is a smart compromise when you want to step up from the open-corridor motels around the corner, without paying the prices of the luxury properties down the block.
Take a look inside the Wyndham Anaheim, including a tour of a standard room, with this video:
Guest rooms are generically contemporary, with faux-hardwood tile and herringbone carpeting on the floors, along with functional earth-tone furniture featuring ample drawers and cubby holes.
We like the padded pleather headboard on the comfy bed, the excellent work desk and chair with Ethernet and USB ports, and the Bumble & Bumble soap products in the oversize bathroom.
Rooms also include a small microwave, fridge, and K-cup coffee maker.
You can get Starbucks coffee and hot breakfast sandwiches at the lobby bar every morning; drinks and dinner are also served on select nights.
A small but well-maintained heated pool and spa overlook the entrance to the free underground parking garage—another big perk.
Wyndham Anaheim isn’t as hip as the Hotel Indigo next door, but it’s a few steps closer to the theme parks—and often a few bucks cheaper.
Overall, we rate the Anaheim Desert Inn 4 stars out of 5, while the pool scores 3 stars out of 5.
