It’s been just over a year since the Disney Vacation Club’s newest property debuted in Anaheim, and today we are taking you on a tour of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, direct from the new Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2025.
The Disneyland Resort offers three on-site hotels, and the sprawling Disneyland Hotel is the
oldest of the three. The main hotel is lushly landscaped with a vintage Disneyana theme and offers three guest-room towers. In addition, the Villas at Disneyland Hotel expansion tower of luxurious Disney Vacation Club (DVC) rooms officially opened in late 2023.
Start by taking a tour around the public areas of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel with our 4K POV video:
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel opened as DVC’s 16th property on September 28, 2023, atop a 2-acre plot between the Disneyland Hotel’s Frontier Tower and Walnut Street.
The 12-story, 280,000-square-foot, L-shaped Discovery Tower features over 340 Disney Vacation Club (DVC) time-share units, including 38 two-person studios, similar to the small rooms at Walt Disney World’s Riviera Resort. There are also 271 larger studios, 20 two-bedroom suites, and 19 one-bedroom suites.
Finally, the tower features two multilevel Grand Villas that sleep 12 and come outfitted with full-size kitchens and indoor-outdoor fireplaces.
All rooms feature colorful modernist furniture with artwork referencing animated classics like The Jungle Book, Princess and the Frog, and Fantasia.
The expansion also features the paint-themed Palette Pool with an interactive Steamboat Willie–themed splash pad that changes from monochrome to color under nighttime lighting.
The modernist aesthetic was subtly inspired by the hand-drawn animation process; multicolored panels stretch up one end of the building, while a crackled cream pattern decorates the other side, with balconies on either end and a wall of glass in between.
Inside The Villas, the tight-but-efficient Duo Studio rooms feature pull-down queen beds that are easy to convert and comfortable. Bathrooms feature illuminated mirrors and ample counter space; larger Villa studios and suites have split setups with separate toilet and shower areas.
All Villa rooms have great functionality, with all the standard amenities, plus additional USB-C charging ports. Select rooms have gigantic balconies with nearly as much floor space as the Duo Studios themselves. We like these accommodations even better than the somewhat-dated rooms in the Grand Californian’s DVC wing.
In addition to accessing the popular Goofy’s Kitchen and Tangaroa Terrace restaurants, guests at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel (as well as off-site guests) can avail themselves of the Palm Breeze pool bar, serving cocktails and Southwestern fare.
Although pricey, we appreciate the quality ingredients, generous portions, and laid-back vibe served up by this al fresco venue.
We rate The Villas at Disneyland Hotel as 4 1/2 stars, we and also rate the hotel’s pool as 4 1/2 stars. Rooms in this DVC property are currently available for rental by the general public or for sale to DVC members.
