Universal Orlando recently debuted a spectacular way to wrap up your day at its newest theme park, and we’ve got your Unofficial Guide to enjoying all of the fireworks and fountains of Universal’s Celestial Goodnight show.
On July 7, 2026, Universal Epic Universe held the official grand opening of Celestial Goodnight, the Vegas-esque, night-ending celebration centered around the Celestial Park hub area. At the northern end of the hub, the large Cosmos Fountain outside the Helios Grand Hotel offers Bellagio-style water shows all day, as well as a performance synchronized with music, fireworks, and lighting effects that cascade throughout the park during this nighttime spectacular.
Replacing the pyro-free fountain show that ran during Epic Universe’s opening year, Celestial Goodnight utilizes 350 high-powered water jets—capable of creating a plume taller than the neighboring hotel—operating in tandem with nearly 600 lighting fixtures, plus another 7 million LEDs embedded throughout Celestial Park’s architecture. The evening show incorporates familiar themes from John Williams, John Powell, and Koji Kondo, in addition to Danny Elfman’s original score for Dark Universe, with the soundtrack created for Celestial Park (which includes nods to iconic Universal Studios fanfare), as well as voice clips from the lands’ attractions to provide narration.
At just under 10 minutes long, it isn’t substantial enough to dethrone Disney’s dazzling displays (or even USF’s CineSational), but the production packs an impressive amount of pyrotechnics into its brief runtime. It makes for a satisfying capstone on your day at Epic Universe, but don’t feel like you’re missing out if you skip it for one last spin on your favorite ride. We rate Celestial Goodnight as 4 out of 5 stars.

These are our top Unofficial tips for seeing Celestial Goodnight at Epic Universe:
- The fountain show is usually scheduled every night at official park closing time.
- Also look out for a brief unadvertised fountain lighting display every evening at sunset, when the Atlas statue outside the Helios Grand Hotel transfers his flame to Luna at the park’s opposite end.
- Guests visiting the Helios Grand Hotel can get a bird’s-eye view of the show from Bar Helios’s rooftop viewing area or park-view rooms but won’t be able to see all the fireworks—which are largely launched from directly behind the hotel, with smaller bursts above Dark Universe and Ministry of Magic—and fountains simultaneously.
- Regular park guests can see the show on the ground, within the tiered viewing rings surrounding the large fountain, or anywhere in the northern section of Celestial Park. The show is not viewable from within the other lands of Epic Universe.
- Prime spots on the terraced seating surrounding the fountain tend to fill up 20-30 minutes prior to showtime, but you should only need to show up a few minutes before the show starts to get a good standing-room view.
