This morning, Universal Orlando cast an “Accio Info” spell and unveiled additional details about Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, the highly anticipated roller coaster opening on June 13th at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Islands of Adventure.
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, which replaces the Dragon Challenge attraction, is being billed as Universal Orlando’s “most highly themed, immersive coaster experience yet,” and now we have official confirmation of some of the ride’s details.
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will combine innovative roller coaster technology with heavily themed environments and sets, including an actual forest with more than 1,200 live trees. It will give guests the opportunity to join Hagrid from the Harry Potter films on a journey into the mysterious Forbidden Forest beyond the grounds of Hogwarts castle.
The ride begins when guests—who must be 48 inches tall to ride—become students in Hagrid’s Care of Magical Creatures class and board either a magical motorbike or adjacent sidecar. During the adventure, guests will twist, turn and fly forward—and backward—at speeds up to 50 m.p.h.; encounter rare magical creatures, including a majestic Centaur, a swarm of mischievous Cornish Pixies, Fluffy the three-headed dog, and even a creature that’s never been seen in the films; and face obstacles such as an entangling thicket of Devil’s Snare and other surprises.
When it opens on June 13, 2019, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will join the lineup of experiences in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Islands of Adventure, which also includes Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff.
More details about the new experience will be revealed in the months ahead. For more information, visit universalorlando.com and be sure to read The Unofficial Guide to Universal Orlando for more Wizarding World touring advice.
