Are you planning on visiting the Happiest Place on Earth, and looking for a hip place to hang your hat that won’t break your bank? Today, we continue our ongoing series of Disneyland-area lodging reviews with a fresh look at the budget-friendly Anaheim Hotel, direct from the upcoming Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2025.
The Anaheim Hotel (theanaheimhotel.com) is located at 1700 S. Harbor Blvd, only blocks away from the Disneyland Resort’s Harbor Boulevard security checkpoint. Take a tour of The Anaheim Hotel’s lobby, grounds, and a standard guest room in building 5 with this walkthrough video:
A longstanding motel which was given a retro-modern makeover by the same owners as the upscale Westin, The Anaheim Hotel is a favorite of Magic Key holders for its reasonable rates, exceptionally friendly service, and close proximity to the parks.
The sprawling complex of freestanding low-rise buildings covers nearly half a city block, with some rooms only steps from the GardenWalk.
Guest rooms are spacious, with charming throwback touches like rotary-style telephones and 60s-style art prints (as well as modern charging ports).
Rooms come in a variety of configurations, including family suites; some have big balconies with partial views of the park.
There’s great hot water pressure in the roomy bathrooms, but the poly-blend towels are only adequate.
The Pizza Press restaurant attached to the lobby our favorite spots on the street for a post-park nosh, and there’s a swinging full-service bar and well-stocked marketplace inside as well.
There’s a pristine pool large enough to practice for the Olympics in, plus a fitness room and golf simulator (for rental).
The entire property is lovingly landscaped, with flourishing succulents and live trees in the outdoor corridors.
The Anaheim Hotel’s best feature may be that it lies less than a half-mile from Disneyland’s front door, allowing you to transit between the parks and your room in around 10 minutes. Watch a complete walk from Disneyland to The Anaheim Hotel with this POV video:
We rate The Anaheim Hotel as 3 1/2 stars, and rank it right behind the Candy Cane Inn among our preferred properties in the price range. Join their free Anabella Club for discounts and loyalty rewards.

Stayed here two different times. I love the retro feel and decor. The beds were my favorite of all the good neighbor hotels. The pizza restaurant is a must! The little store on site is very convenient and reasonably priced. Only down side is, no elevators but the ramps are great for mobility scooters. Plus no microwave in the rooms. Great view of the park. Highly recommended for any size party. Kid friendly too.
