After being off-limits for over a year, Universal Orlando has reopened If I Ran the Zoo to young fans of Dr. Seuss, and the Unofficial Guide has a complete tour of the Islands of Adventure playground.

As part of its pandemic precautions, Universal Orlando closed down its theme parks’ interactive playgrounds, but, now that the crisis is easing, those attractions are springing back to life. First came Camp Jurassic, which reopened in April at Islands of Adventure’s Jurassic Park. That was soon followed by If I Ran the Zoo in IOA’s Seuss Landing, which is the subject of this new complete walk-through video:

As you can see, If I Ran The Zoo is again open to Universal Orlando guests, but there are a few elements that have not yet been fully restored. Most notably, these tube slides are still blocked off, and none of the water features have been refilled yet.

Even without those elements, there’s still plenty for kids to enjoy among this imaginative menagarie.

It’s worth noting that, although the flag at the entrance was temporarily painted over, the attraction’s “If I Ran The Zoo” name has been restored and remains on park signage, despite the book it was based on being withdrawn from publication.

Now that Camp Jurassic and If I Ran the Zoo have reopened, we’re keeping our eye on Me Ship The Olive in Toon Lagoon, which will hopefully soon be followed by the Fievel and Curious George playgrounds in Universal Studios Florida’s Kidzone, which currently remain closed.
